Our Story
Four Dutch boys inspired by the Finca way of life

At Finca Mediterranean, we are passionate about connecting you to our Mediterranean friends and their unique products.
Finca is the Spanish word for farm, but it means so much more than that. A few years ago we bought a Finca around the Spanish town of Canet Lo Roig. This Finca was a small plot of land with some olive trees on it, a few ruins and a very small house that was in desperate need for renovation. We knew it would be a lot of work to make the place inhabitable, but that did not matter. We fell in love with the Valencian countryside and especially the small town of Canet. This town is known for its large amount of century old olive trees called 'millenarios'. The people there are mainly farmers who grow olives or have animals like pigs. Immediately upon our arrival, the people treated us kindly and were curious about these crazy young foreigners who had bought a piece of land around their aging town. The first real friend we made was François, a French adventurer who had immigrated to Spain to live a more balanced life in the countryside. He had built his own home from scratch and was living completely off grid. He became our role model and helped us tremendously by lending us his tools and expertise.
